The Level 3 Emergency First Aid at work qualification is an official First Aid qualification recognised by the SIA to be able to apply for an SIA Licence for SIA Door Supervisor and SIA Security Officer Licences. This is a mandatory qualification for any individual who wishes to complete the SIA Door Supervisor training to gain an SIA Licence as of April 2021.

By successfully completing the Level 3 award in Emergency First Aid qualification you will be qualified to offer First Aid in the workplace. The contents of this qualification meets the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and the Security Industry Authority (SIA) requirements.

The Level 3 Emergency First Aid course covers one main learning module.

Module: Emergency First Aid in the Workplace

The course is taught within a classroom-based environment, some parts of the modules are provided in advance as distant learning material for you to study before attending the training course.

You will learn about understanding roles and responsibilities of a First Aider, how to provide first aid to a casualty, first aid for choking, external bleeding, first aid to persons in shock, using CPR and AED plus more.

Once you have successfully completed the Emergency First Aid at Work course, you will be able to provide First Aid in the workplace and be able to successfully apply for an SIA Licence to work as a Door Supervisor or a Security Officer.

The Level 3 award in Emergency First Aid at Work course consists of practical observation and a 10-question multiple-choice theory test.

No previous experience or qualifications are necessary. Although you can attend this stand alone qualification from the age of 14 years, you must be 18 and above to attend the course if you also wish to complete the SIA Door Supervisor or Security Officer training course to further apply for an SIA Licence to work in the security industry.

English speaking, listening, reading and writing must be at an acceptable level.

Do I need experience to do this course?

You do not need any experience or previous knowledge to complete this course. The qualification will provide all the knowledge that you need.

What documents do I need to bring when I attend?

You will need one of the following, Passport ID (Any Nationality), UK Driving Licence (Full or Prov) or a UK Birth Certificate as a Group A document. You will also need 2 proofs of address such as a Bank Statement, Utility Bill, Government/NHS letters.

What if I fail my exam or practical assessment?

If you fail any of your exam or assessment, do not worry. We offer FREE unlimited exam re-sits as standard. You can re-sit your exams as many times as you like until you pass! Please be aware that you must pass the Emergency First Aid training if you wish to continue with your SIA security training course.

How long does it take to get results?

Results are provided by the Examining Body within 10 working days.

When will I get my Certificate?

The amazing thing is that we provide your Certificate at the same time as your results when you pass! We provide an electronic certificate that is authenticated by the examining body. Avoid delays waiting further weeks for your certificate to arrive. e-Certificates are emailed in PDF format and you can save the file or email the certificate directly to employers.

Are the courses you provide recognised by the SIA?

Yes. Our Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work and all SIA courses we offer are regulated by the SIA and the Awarding Body. We provide genuine qualifications that are recognised by the SIA to gain your SIA Licence successfully.

Do you provide learning material?

Yes. We provide you with learning material for the relevant modules of the course which meeting the Awarding Body requirements. It is important to read and understand the information as it will help improve your chances of passing the course successfully. It will also improve your knowledge and increase your chances of a successful job interview.

Why do I have to do the First Aid course when I book the Door Supervisor Course?

As of 1st April 2021, the First Aid qualification is mandatory for anyone who wishes to work as a Security Guard or a Door Supervisor. This is an SIA regulation and a requirement for everyone who wishes to complete the SIA security course. Please select the option including First Aid if you do not have a valid First Aid Certificate.

What if I have a valid First Aid certificate?

You will need to bring your First Aid certificate with you when you attend the SIA Door Supervisor Course. We recommend that you contact us on 01282 911 221 so we can confirm that the certificate you hold is acceptable as per SIA regulations.

My First Aid certificate expires in a few months, will it be acceptable?

Your First Aid certificate must have a minimum of 12 months left before expiry on the first day you begin your SIA course. If when you attend the first day of the Door Supervisor course, your First Aid certificate has less than 12 months left then the First Aid certificate will not be acceptable as per SIA regulations. Please ensure you check with us before booking your training.

Can I complete my First Aid training after I finish my security course?

Unfortunately not. The SIA stipulate that the Emergency First Aid at work training must be completed BEFORE you begin the SIA Door Supervisor or Security Officer training.
