Please also add the Emergency First Aid at Work qualification to the basket if you do not hold a First Aid qualification. Please choose the same date (Day 1) of the Door Supervisor course to ensure you attend and gain both qualifications together to avoid delays.

The First Aid qualification is now mandatory for all SIA Door Supervisors and Security Officers.

If you currently hold the Emergency First Aid at Work certificate, it MUST have at least 12 months remaining until expiry on the first day of your SIA Door Supervisor course for it to be acceptable due to SIA regulations. You must bring your certificate with you on the day.

The SIA Door Supervisor training course is the most popular qualification within the security industry. It allows you to work as a Security Officer in the private security industry within the UK.

The SIA Door Supervisor qualified licence holders are much sought after by employers within the security industry, meaning you will have a better chance of employment after gaining your SIA Licence for Door Supervisors.

The SIA Door Supervisor course covers four main learning modules as prescribed by the Security Industry Authority (SIA) to apply for your official SIA licence to work within the industry. These are as follows:

Module 1: Principles of working in the Private Security Industry

Module 2: Principles of working as a Door Supervisor

Module 3: Application of Conflict Management

Module 4: Application of Physical Intervention Skills

The course modules are taught within a classroom-based environment, some parts of the modules are provided in advance as distant learning material for you to study before attending the training course.

You will learn about the security industry from emergency procedures, health & safety, customer care, drug awareness to understanding law. You will also learn about managing conflict situations, finding resolve and incident reporting.

Once you have successfully completed this official SIA approved course, you will be able to apply for your SIA Licence Card to work within the security industry.

The SIA Door Supervisor course is assessed by three multiple-choice paper exams and one practical assessment that you will complete during attendance as follows:

Module 1: Principles of working within the Private Security Industry

  • 72-question multiple-choice exam paper
  • Examination duration: 1 hour and 50 minutes
  • 70% pass mark

Module 2: Principles of working as a Door Supervisor

  • 50-question multiple-choice exam paper
  • Examination duration: 1 hour and 15 minutes
  • 70% pass mark

Module 3: Application of Conflict Management

  • 20-question multiple-choice exam paper
  • Examination duration: 30 minutes
  • 70% pass mark

Module 4: Application of Physical Intervention

  • 30-question multiple-choice exam paper
  • Examination duration: 45 minutes
  • 80% pass mark

The Physical Intervention module has a theory and practical element that will help you understand the uses of physical intervention in conflict situations. This module is designed to help you prepare and understand how to deal with conflict in the best possible way to protect yourself and the people around you. This module is assessed by your Tutor. Our learners enjoy this module the most!

No previous experience.

You must hold the Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work qualification or equivalent, if you do not then please select the Emergency First Aid at Work qualification when booking. The First Aid qualification is mandatory.

You must be 18 and above to attend the course and apply for an SIA Licence to work in the security industry. English speaking, listening, reading and writing must be at an acceptable level.

Do I need experience to do this course?

You do not need any experience or previous knowledge to complete this course. The qualification will provide all the knowledge that you need to successfully work in the security sector.

What documents do I need to bring when I attend?

You will need one of the following, Passport ID (Any Nationality), UK Driving Licence (Full or Prov) or a UK Birth Certificate as a Group A document. You will also need 2 proofs of address such as a Bank Statement, Utility Bill, Government/NHS letters and 1 Passport size photo.

What if I cannot bring a Passport size photo?

If you have trouble getting your passport size photo, we have a Passport photo service available within our building. You can get your photos done on the day for £5.00.

What if I fail my exams?

If you fail any of your exams, do not worry. We offer FREE unlimited exam re-sits as standard. You can re-sit your exams as many times as you like until you pass!

How long does it take to get results?

Results are provided by the Examining Body within 10 working days.

When will I get my Certificate?

The amazing thing is that we provide your Certificate at the same time as your results when you pass! We provide an electronic certificate that is authenticated by the examining body. Avoid delays waiting further weeks for your certificate to arrive. e-Certificates are emailed in PDF format and you can save the file or email the certificate directly to employers.

How much is the SIA Licence badge?

The SIA currently charge a fee of £190.00 for the SIA Licence.

How do I apply for the SIA Licence?

You must apply for the SIA Licence on the government website. It is a straight forward SIA application. Once submitted, the SIA will instruct you to take your ID and proof of addresses to the Post Office and you will also make the payment for the fee when you attend.

Are the courses you provide recognised by the SIA?

Yes. Our SIA courses are regulated by the SIA and the Awarding Body. We provide genuine qualifications that are recognised by the SIA to gain your SIA Licence successfully.

Does the course fee include the SIA licence badge?

No. The course fee that you pay us is only for the qualification that we provide. You will receive the full training and certificate when you pass. The SIA Licence fee is payable to the SIA via the Post Office once you have passed the course and then completed the SIA application.

Do you provide learning material?

Yes. We provide you with learning material for the relevant modules of the course which meeting the Awarding Body requirements. It is important to read and understand the information as it will help improve your chances of passing the course successfully. It will also improve your knowledge and increase your chances of a successful job interview.

I want to work as a Security Guard, is this course right for me?

Yes, absolutely. The Door Supervisor course is an enhanced version of the basic Security Officer qualification. This is the most popular course as it provides the flexibility to work as a Security Officer on licensed premises such as Events, Hotels, Airports, Supermarkets and more. Have the peace of mind that you will not need to complete any additional security qualifications such as the SIA Security Officer course as the SIA Door Supervisor course allows you to work as a security guard as well.

Why do I have to do the First Aid course when I book the Door Supervisor Course?

As of 1st April 2021, the First Aid qualification is mandatory for anyone who wishes to work as a Security Guard or a Door Supervisor. This is an SIA regulation and a requirement for everyone who wishes to complete the SIA security course. Please add First Aid if you do not have a valid First Aid Certificate.

What if I have a valid First Aid certificate?

You will need to bring your First Aid certificate with you when you attend the SIA Door Supervisor Course. We recommend that you contact us on 0208 166 1593 so we can confirm that the certificate you hold is acceptable as per SIA regulations.

My First Aid certificate expires in a few months, is it accepted?

Your First Aid certificate must have a minimum of 12 months left before expiry on the first day you begin your SIA course. If when you attend the first day of the Door Supervisor course, your First Aid certificate has less than 12 months left then the First Aid certificate will not be acceptable as per SIA regulations. Please ensure you check with us before booking your training.

Can I complete my First Aid training after I finish my security course?

Unfortunately not. The SIA stipulate that the Emergency First Aid at work training must be completed BEFORE you begin the SIA Door Supervisor or Security Officer training. Please choose to attend the First Aid course on the same day as your Door Supervisor course begins.
